Lost Your Cydia? Fixing Cydia’s Disappearance After Jailbreaking The iPad 2
One of the wonders of a jailbroken iDevice is its ability to access the Cydia app. Cydia is a lot like your ordinary app market, but it offers not your ordinary apps. It lets you access, download, and install special apps that allows you to do special things with your gadget. One of these is the RetinaPad, which enhances the resolution of the iPhone-only apps accessed through iPad.
Almost all of the iDevices or iOS-run gadgets right now are jailbroken, with the previous exception of the iPad 2; but today, the iPad 2 has been jailbroken as well. It’s jailbreak is probably one of the easiest ways to jailbreak a device. It’s jailbreak, the JailbreakMe 3.0 doesn’t require any tricks and even a connection to a computer. It just requires a browser and internet access. You can jailbreak your iPad 2 just by accessing a certain site and clicking on a link which would then activate the installation of the JailbreakMe 3.0.
Solutions For Cydia’s Disappearance
After the installation, you already have a jailbroken iPad 2, congratulations! However, the problem with JailbreakMe is that sometimes, the Cydia which should definitely appear immediately after the jailbreaking is nowhere to be found. There’s no need to fret though, because here are a few steps to fix the Cydia disappearance problem.
The first one is to update your JailbreakMe. This issue is usually found with the older versions of JailbreakMe. There’s an available update already that is created to address the issue. Access that the same way you have accessed the previous version that you have downloadded. After installing it, you should be able to see and access your Cydia app already via your Home screen, or if it still doesn’t show up, install your Cydia app seperately.
If it’s still not there, then maybe it’s not your JailbreakMe that needs some fixing, maybe it’s your Cydia? Find Cydia’s “Essential Upgrade” and download it. After both of these solutions, you should be albe to access your Cydia app perfectly already, without issues and problems. If by chance none of these solutions worked, then Comex suggests to email him your issue so he could work out your problem personally.
