iPhone owners may discover that the iPad offers much of the same features. One obvious difference is that the iPad has a much larger screen. So, consumers searching for a device the provides several basic features of a PC like word processing, internet, email and using several applications, than the iPad is a perfect choice. On the other hand, the MacBook Pro is a fully functional PC featuring much more capabilities and obviously more digital storage space. Some people feel that the iPad is just an oversized iPhone.
Although the iPad is quite convenient to carry around due to its smaller size, MacBook Pro users will observe a decrease in power because of it. Even though it is one of iPad’s main selling points, the size of the iPad has been reported to cause over heating during direct sunlight exposure. Basically, most major electronic devices are not manufactured to cope with the heat of direct sunlight over long periods of time but with the portable nature of the iPad, Apple should have considered this problem.
Compared to the iPad, the MacBook Pro has been in the market for a longer period of time. During its initial launch, the MacBook Pros also had its share of bugs. If you are seriously considering purchasing an iPad, it is wise to wait for the second generation of iPads. This will give Apple an excellent understanding of what can be improved on thus you will not be wasting your money on an initial model.
Generally speaking at this time, the MacBook Pro is the selection for most consumers. On the other hand, if the iPad operated on a similar level as the MacBook Pro, this may increase its portability feature. Thus it is wise to observe and be patient on the development of the iPad.
